The Babkala™ is a product of my own invention. A genius hybrid between the rugala and babka, this muffin-size babkala offers a mouthful of crispiness with every bite. The dough is slightly less yeasty but definitely more buttery (though not dairy) than the babka dough. I use the finest Dutch cocoa, Belgian chocolate, and real vanilla beans to smother the thin layers of dough in gooey chocolate. Topped with my signature crispy streusel, this item is a winner. Bite in and you won’t know what hit you.
You may want to freeze them immediately, or they will be gone by the time you count to ten.
